Obsessions, not in any particular order...

Olivia -- Butterflies, also ladybugs though not as much as butterflies, Tinkerbell and other fairies, sprinkled cookies at Raley's, saying "S & S Produce," balloons, kitty kisses (that's when she licks you), coloring, Diego (Dora's cousin), animals in general, taking pictures, John the tortoise at the Nature Center, computer games, teamwork!, Puffins cereal, warmed-up juice, Bidwell mansion (we HAVE to drive by it on the way to school), making sure doors are closed when it's dark outside, locking doors, and macaroni and cheese.

Cora -- Dress-up, being dramatic, barbies, Kim Possible, movie night (and movies in general lately), Harry Potter, Star Wars, Prince Valiant (the comic strip), reading books, Peter Pan, playing with her friends, being first, pretty dresses, helping others, princesses and queens, supergirl, weddings (REALLY looking forward to Aunt CC and Dave's wedding by the way), showing off, noodle soup, warmed-up milk, dragons, fairies, blueberry cereal bars, peanut butter and honey sandwiches on wheat bread, and being social.

I'm sure there are probably more that I have forgotten, but it's a start.

Cora lost her first tooth today! It had been loose for quite some time, about a month (she first noticed it was loose when we visited the Zimmers last month). I was beginning to wonder if it would ever come out and whether I was going to have to convince Cora to let me try to pull it out for her. I had started hinting over the past couple days that she should try to pull it out so it wouldn't bother her anymore. She was really trying to pull it out this morning and she did it! I think she was a little surprised that it hurt a little bit and that there was some blood involved, but she got pretty excited once she realized that the tooth fairy would be coming for a visit now. There is a new tooth already working its way out in its place.

Cora has been wanting a paper parasol that she saw at the Bidwell Mansion visitor center and she's been trying to earn a little money lately by doing extra little jobs around the house. Today she pulled some weeds, she also got money over this past week for helping me out at work. Cora had the week off of school for the President's holidays, but none of the rest of us did. So she helped me out one day with some sorting and cutting for a special Smart Minds, Smart Bodies Family Book Bag project I've been working on. She and Olivia also went with me to walk around downtown yesterday with a pedometer to calculate some distances for a walking map for Chico High students.

So we tried to celebrate as much as possible the fact that Cora lost her first tooth this morning. I think she had a really great day. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous -- 80 degrees, light breezes, and lots of sunshine. The girls played outside a lot, we all spent some time working in the garden, and Cora put her tooth in a little purple pouch under her pillow before she went to sleep.
