Well, summer is here and as usual things are pretty busy around here. I'm really behind with my blogging... I have a list of things to write about and even that's pretty old. Summer seemed very slow to start with record cool weather around here and unseasonal rain lingering much later than normal. It's plenty hot and dry now though!

Cora is finished with preschool for the summer. She took a tumbling class this month that ended yesterday. She wasn't really too thrilled with the class, she seemed to like it at first, but then she didn't really want to go any more after a few times. It was just two days a week, but that's all over with now. I think Olivia would have really enjoyed the class, but they didn't offer it for kids her age. Cora has been spending a lot of time out in the back yard playing, but she also likes to come in and play on the computer, watch cartoons, do art projects, and read.

Olivia was trying to help Aunt CC with the construction of the new deck as you can see above. The deck is pretty much finished now and we're working on an overhead cover. The girls and I spent a weekend at Grandma Sandy & Grandpa Tim's earlier this month and the girls had a great time. Both Cora & Olivia always have fun and I get a chance to have some time alone while they're with Grandma & Grandpa. Uncle Lance & Aunt Barbara came over as well and Uncle Lance was a very good horse!

Olivia has been adding to her vocabulary lately. I've noticed that she has a tendency to use sound and action words. She calls dogs "uh uh" (like woof woof), horses are "neehee" (like neigh), rabbits are "hoppy," frogs are "ribby" (like ribit), and trains are "tugga tugga choo choo." Olivia is still working on some of her sounds, she seldom says Cora's name, but when she does it sounds like "Tora" and Aunt CC is "EE." Her potty training on the other hand is going very well. If she doesn't have anything on her bum she uses the potty every time. And I haven't changed a poopy diaper for at least a month because she always tells us when she has to go. If she has to pee and she has a diaper or underwear on she will sometimes use the potty, but sometimes she still wets. She is making progress though, and I sure think it will be grand when we don't have to have diapers anymore!
Some Cora quotes:
June 10 "I can hear my bones: We want milk, we want milk!"
June 11 Said to Olivia in a deep voice, "As your new president I request you do as I say! Do what I say!"
