We have been having some really nice weather lately and spending a lot of time outdoors. Andrew's spring break was the week after Easter and we stayed home and enjoyed our yard. The girls played a lot with Daddy, and since Cora still had preschool, Daddy picked her up each day on the bike and gave her a ride home. In these pictures the girls were helped up into the tree by Daddy, something they both love to do.

I took these pictures just today, mostly because Cora just looks like she is growing up so fast! I was watching her sitting on the floor watching cartoons and it struck me that she doesn't look so little anymore. She will be four years old soon and it just doesn't seem possible! I suppose all parents go through that. Cora has also been doing a great job as a big sister -- most of the time. In the second picture she was blowing bubbles for Olivia to catch, encouraging her as she did. Just a couple days ago I was weeding in the garden while Cora & Olivia entertained themselves playing about in the yard. It was so nice, they were getting along so well, having fun, and I was doing my own thing, glancing up once in awhile to see where they were.

Olivia seems to finally be ready to start speaking more. She actually tries to say words now, even though we don't always understand. She still uses gestures and sign language a lot as well. Words that she can say are:
Dada/Daddy..........................................Mama/Mommy.................................................cat "at"
dog "uh uh uh".......................................me.....................................................................that
sheep "bah bah"....................................horse "neigh"..................................................up/uppy
yummy.....................................................yucky "blech/blechy".....................................down
blue..........................................................owl....................................................................cow "moo"
bye...........................................................ow/owie............................................................oh
whoa........................................................ball....................................................................rip
whee........................................................teeth..................................................................ha ha
no.............................................................pee pee............................................................uh oh
mine.........................................................bubble..............................................................boo
cut............................................................yeah..................................................................hee haw
Her current favorite thing to say seems to be "uh oh!" And the way she says "blech, blechy" makes me laugh. She will see dirt on the floor, point to it, and with great animation say, "blechy, blechy!" One time she did this I told her that I needed to vacuum the dirt up and she responded, "me!" So I gave her the dust buster and she cleaned it right up! She really doesn't like to see dirt in the house or on one of us, she's not all that fond of bugs either and will point and back away while she makes a scared face.
